"We have formulated a long-lasting car air freshener, up to 60 days"

In 2014, taking advantage of the gap left by the disappearance of a company in the area, Jaume Castellá, Ramon Ricart and Antonio Rodríguez founded Ilerspray in Torres de Segre (Lleida), a company dedicated to the manufacture of cleaning and maintenance products for the automobile and the packaging of aerosol products. 5 years later, the company is expanding its products and markets. Jaume Castellá tells us about it.

Manufacture and packaging of cleaning and maintenance products for the automobile... Well yes, that is our main line: dashboard cleaners, wheel cleaners, antifreeze, air fresheners... And then aerosol packaging for third-party brands, which would be contract manufacturing. But we also have other lines, such as insecticides, furniture cleaners or home air fresheners; and for industry, lubricants and greases. Always aerosol products.

That's a lot of products! It is a fairly wide range, among which I would highlight one of our star products, a car air freshener that has its own formulation and lasts up to 60 days.

Its full performance is achieved 1-2 hours after opening the container and lasts for 60 days. We have also been developing new products for some time and in 2020 they will see the light: an anti-rain windshield washer for the car, a multi-surface cleaner for the home and a range of Teflon oils for industry. Additionally, we are conducting a feasibility study to launch a line of cosmetics of our own production and brand on the market.

And regarding packaging for third parties? We provide two types of service. First, the "full service", where the client tells us the product they want and we manufacture and package it. The second is when a client sends us the concentrate, and we adapt it to be packaged in an aerosol. For example, there are brands that have products in spray bottles and ask us to make the same liquid in an aerosol. "Full service" would be when a client asks us for a product with specific characteristics; here we would make a tailor-made solution.

You currently have two own brands, right? Yes. On the one hand, we have APP up4you, aimed at the multi-price market, and on the other, the LE-BRILL brand, which is our flagship in the automotive sector, with high quality and very high performance. Although there are countries, like Tunisia, that prefer the APP up4you formulation. True, you are opening up to new markets...

We are already quite well-positioned in North Africa and in some European countries, but the idea is to open up to the entire North African region, continue through the Middle East and try to make the leap to South America, where the contacts we have had have been very positive.
